SIPPS is a powerful software product that adds the functions of a comfort telephone to any normal commercially available PC. Voice-over IP (VoIP) technology (SIP) forms the basis of the development. SIP stands for a new form of speech transmission via the Internet or an IP network.

SIP (the Session Initiation Protocol) allows data, language and video information to be transmitted via the Internet or the IP network. Speech is digitized, compressed and then 'packed' in speech packets, before it is transmitted via the IP network.

SIPPS offers the comfort of modern ISDN phones and more. SIPPS is an voice over IP phone call software that help you to talk with your friends.

The integrated
answering machine with a remote inquiry feature, call forwarding and conference calls are only a few of the features that make using it a pleasure. IT lets you freely choose from a number of different user interfaces ('skins'), custom ringing tones, a variety of answering machine messages, offers MSN Messenger support, and much more.

If you use a firewall, the following ports must be opened if you want to make calls over the internet:

- UDP: Ports 5060 / 5062 / 30000 - 30005 / 3478 / 3479
- TCP: Port 80
